The Board of Directors of The Arc of Southington is comprised of family members of people with intellectual disabilities, professionals in the field of disabilities, and members of the community at large, all of whom are committed to our mission.

The term for officers of the Board is one year, with most officers serving at least two terms. The term for Director is two years. Elections are held at the annual meeting in June for the Officers and the Directors. The maximum size for the Board of Directors is 15. The President of the Board of Directors can appoint up to three Directors to vacant positions. The Arc of Southington strongly encourages self-advocates to participate on the Board of The Arc of Southington so that there is a direct voice from our constituency.

The Board of Directors meets monthly, about 10 times per year. Committees of the Board include: Finance, Personnel, Membership, Dinner Dance and Fundraising committees that are formed as necessary for a specific purpose.

The Arc of Southington encourages those interested in serving on its Board of Directors to make themselves known to the organization. This can be done in writing, via e-mail or by phone.
